National School Equestrian Championships
Pupils enjoy an excellent competition
Seven members of the School's Equestrian Team competed at the National Schools Equestrian Championships in October. It is a great achievement to even qualify as all the places are hotly contested and the standard of competition at the Championships is very high.

The 70 cm Showjumping Team of Mimi Lumb, Lucile Milton, Harriet Curtis and Lily Sutcliffe did very well particularly as it was their first time at the Championships and ended on a score of only 4 faults.

The 90cm Showjumping Team of Annabelle Jay, Anna Mear and Immy Griffin had a bit of a tricky round ending on 16 faults but did better in the 100cm jumping with style, coming a credible 18th with excellent style marks.

Annabelle did very well in individual classes coming 4th in the 110cm jumping with style and in a special British Eventing Class came 1st in her section and 2nd overall.

The Championships are great fun with excellent sportsmanship shown and good team spirit. A lot of hard work goes into these competitions with early starts, preparing the horses and ponies and long days competing, then caring for the animals afterwards ready for the next day. Well done everyone and roll on next year!
