Infant Years

Pupils demonstrate an excellent work ethic at all times. They are always keen to give of their best and involve themselves fully in the learning process. Throughout the school pupils are active learners and the high level of  participation and interest in all aspects of school work is a significant strength of the school." (ISI Report, 2014)

In the Infant Years our children thrive with the attention and support they receive alongside a huge range of learning opportunities.

These years are critical in developing each child’s self-belief and sustained enjoyment of discovery. Close attention is paid to ensuring that children are developing solid foundations in English and Maths, and our children benefit from small class sizes, superb teaching and specialist support, so that every child is challenged. The children also explore new subjects such as French and thrive at their weekly Forest School sessions.

Our ‘hands on’ approach to learning continues both inside and outside the classroom. In Year 2 children look forward to their first residential stay; they take leading roles in the Infants’ productions and play their first sports fixtures against other schools. The combination of expert teaching and excellent facilities ensures that all our children flourish both academically and socially.
