Nursery visited Wellington Monument this week for an Autumn walk amongst the beautiful beech trees.

Food chains, fangs and molars were the subject of Year 3's workshop at Bristol Zoo on Tuesday.

All Year 5 took part in a fabulous French fashion show on the eve of half term.

Pupils from the Junior School took the Harvest Festival produce to Taunton Association for the Homeless.

A misty, Autumn morning saw Nursery children setting off for a visit to the apple orchards at Sheppy's Farm this week.

This was a very successful occasion and the weather was close to ideal.

The Infants Sports Day was very well attended and the children really enjoyed the occasion.

Wellington Junior School Raises Funds for Charity with 175 Mile Swimathon

The Junior School held its annual Summer Fair this week, in beautiful sunshine despite the anxious faces during the rain in the morning.

Year 1 went on their annual trip to Pennywell Farm in Devon this week, in the glorious sunshine.

Pip Williams achieved the second highest team score in her first BYRDS competition.

The Junior School has had two Indian visitors this week who have been helping in a variety of classrooms and experiencing first hand life in an English Junior School.

On Monday 13th May a group of musicians from the Ensemble of China arrived in the Junior School and gave a workshop to the Year 2 children.

Last Friday afternoon KS1 held their now annual Fair Trade Tea Party in the Junior School Hall.

The School Nurse, Sister Sells, visited Nursery this week to do a handwashing/hygiene workshop with the children.

On Monday 6th May Wellington School, as a whole, celebrated its 175th Anniversary.

Nursery children paid a visit to Forest School this week in preparation for their weekly visits in the reception class from September.

One of the highlights of the day was the seed workshop with Pete, one of the gardeners.

As a grand finale to the topic of Castles, Year 1 took the sunshine with them to visit Dunster Castle.

During the Easter holidays a group of Year 5 and Year 6 students were lucky enough to go on a ski trip to Passo Tonale in Italy.

Last term all of Year 5 took part in a reading challenge, as part of a wider national reading initiative “Read for my School”.

Year 1 came to school as princesses and knights and were greeted by Her Majesty and two jesters!

It may have been wintry outside, but Year 5 enjoyed a sizzling Caribbean Day to round off their topic on St. Lucia and the Caribbean.

Year 6 children hosted a fantastic French café last Tuesday, serving a variety of traditional French delicacies to a packed hall of younger children, parents, teachers, governors and friends.

Reception children visited Mr and Mrs Vellacott’s farm to see the newborn lambs, the two week old puppies and some pigs.

The Junior School celebrated RED NOSE DAY this year by coming to school in something red!

Following in the footsteps of Mary Anning, the Reception children had great fun scouring the shores of Lyme Bay looking for fossils.
