Classes of 2002 - 2004 enjoy their day back at school

A select but happy group assembled for the first reunion for recent leavers, this time for the Classes of 2002 - 2004, on 26 April. It was a chance to see old friends and staff, and Headmaster Martin Reader was on hand to meet everyone.

Starting with coffee in the new dining room, the former pupils were joined by teachers both past and present. The Bursar showed off plans for the new classroom block under construction next to the Sports Complex and explained how it fits into the whole plan for the development of the music and drama departments.

Under sunny skies they watched the tennis and cricket matches, encountering more familiar faces as they went. Then back to the dining room for lunch, again with members of staff and WSA Chairman Mike Sertin.

After lunch there was a quick demo of the digital organ in the Chapel courtesy of Assistant Director of Music Ian Webb-Taylor, and a close-up view of the new Classroom Block under construction. Sadly, no one took advantage of the offer of a swim in the pool under its new all-weather cover, as only one person had brought swimming things!

A return to the Cricket gave everyone a further chance to talk about what they are doing and what they would like for future reunions. "When will the next one be?" was among the comments - a good sign for sure.

We would love to hear from you about reunions. If you would like us to arrange a reunion, or to help you with your own, just get in touch with us at alumni@wellingtonschool.org.uk or phone 01823 668854 and we will be happy to help out. We hope to see you soon.
