Reception fossil hunting at Lyme Regis

The children in Reception class had great fun clambering over the rocks at Lyme Regis looking for fossils. Dr Dawes, a local palaeontologist, shared his expert knowledge with them explaining how the fossils were formed and what an ammonite used to look like. The children filled their rucksacks with lots of interesting rocks and shells and were amazed by the ammonite graveyard.Â
