We understand that Wellington Junior School offers a privileged education. As we enjoy the opportunities that surround us we learn about taking responsibility for ourselves, other people and our school and its environment. In Year 6 we prepare a presentation on our favourite charity which the whole school votes on as the most popular national and international charities become the focus of our fundraising for the year. Our Head Boy and Head Girl help Mrs Spicer run our School Council. Every class has a boy and girl who represent their class. Twice a term (or more) the class reps ask their friends if there is anything they would like to bring up at the School Council meeting. The School Council has helped organise fund raising, changed how we use our playground and installed clocks in the changing rooms so we aren’t late for PE lessons any more! Our big project this year is the development of an outdoor teaching and performance space. |
