Clubs & Activities

We know that choosing to educate your child at a school that offers as many opportunities as Wellington Junior School can have a significant impact on family life.

We offer a very full range of before and after school clubs as part of the school day. Choices available hope to satisfy most tastes and preferences, from those who can never have too much sport to those for whom the Games and PE lessons provide quite enough physical activity!

Clubs lists go out each term, children (and their parents) are able to make their choices and then receive confirmation of the clubs they are registered for. Waiting lists are kept for those clubs which have a limited number of attendees. Although pupils are encouraged to stick with a club for the term selected, we do understand when changes need to occur and there may well be people delighted to take up the place that is no longer required.

Clubs start on the first day of each term and run throughout the term. Staff members endeavour at all times to cover for clubs if they are affected by residentials etc, when this is not possible, children can usually be accommodated within Homework (KS2) or Activities (EY / KS1).

The 'Activities Room' provides a welcome difference of venue for our younger children at the end of a busy day. Children at 'Activities' may be cooking, creating or playing in the dressing up clothes, but they are always having fun!

Mrs Clark runs our 'Late Club' until 5.30pm in the 'Activities Room'. The emergency number to contact should you be running late is 07929 092804.
