Welcome to our Infant Department where children are nurtured and encouraged from Nursery through to the end of Key Stage One and prepared for transfer to Key Stage Two.
The early years at school are very special as there are so many wonderful things for the children to discover. Young minds need careful feeding and many of you will know just how often children ask the questions “how” and “why”.
We have a fantastic team of highly qualified staff which includes Support staff in every class working alongside the class teacher to supply the answers and to give each child plenty of encouragement as we strive to promote individual learning.
We take time to explore appropriate learning styles and lay a solid foundation in all the basic skills as we learn about the world around us.
Children in the Infant Department are fortunate to have a “hands-on” experience which includes lots of different activities either in groups or as individuals, both in the classroom and on many and varied trips around the local area. A look at the curriculum guide will give you a better idea of how learning takes place in a practical and vibrant way.
