Location and Facilities
Wellington is an attractive rural town, steeped in history and set in the heart of the beautiful countryside of South West England. It has good road and rail links and is easily accessed from Bristol International Airport and London Heathrow. Founded in 1837, Wellington School offers a sympathetic blend between the traditional and the modern.
The School benefits from considerable on-going investment and, in recent years, this has created enviable new facilities including a purpose-built science centre, an innovative £2.6m sports complex (The Princess Royal Sports Complex) and a separate Junior School. A new classroom block containing an air-conditioned examination hall will open early in 2009 followed by major refurbishment of the Music and Performing Arts facilities.
For day pupils, there is an extensive school bus service covering an area up to Minehead in the North, Honiton and Exeter in the South, Dulverton to the West and Langport to the East.
