Commemoration Day 2025

Wellington School hosted a truly memorable Commemoration Day 2025, as parents, students, staff, governors, friends, and alumni gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the year and bid farewell to our Upper Sixth Form students.

The day began with a poignant Leavers' Chapel Service, where the Chapel Choir filled the air with moving music, setting a reflective and uplifting tone for the event. This was followed by the stirring performances of the Corps of Drums and an exciting Field Gun demonstration, adding an element of tradition and spectacle to the day.

We were privileged to have The Honourable Sir Nigel Sweeney KC (former Judge of the High Court) as our guest speaker. An esteemed Old Wellingtonian, Sir Nigel shared his vast wisdom and offered inspiring words to our Upper Sixth leavers, encouraging them as they take their next steps into the world beyond Wellington.

The day was filled with moments of pride as prizes were awarded to students who had excelled across various disciplines. In an emotional address, School Captains, Jude and Grace, fondly reflected on their time at Wellington, highlighting the memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

As the day came to a close, one thing was abundantly clear, Wellington School is a place of heart, history and extraordinary people. We celebrate not only the achievements of the day but the bonds that tie us together as a community.
