Commemoration Day Marks the End of an Exceptional Year

Today’s Senior School Commemoration Day provided a wonderful opportunity for the Wellington community to come together in celebration as we reflected on another remarkable year.

The day began in Chapel, where the beautiful voices of the Chapel Choir created a truly moving start to the occasion. From there, guests enjoyed a commanding performance from the Corps of Drums, followed by an impressive CCF Gun Run demonstration.

Our celebrations continued in the marquee with speeches and prize giving, where we were privileged to welcome former England Netball international and Head Coach of the England national netball team, Jess Thirlby, as our guest speaker.

The afternoon concluded with a drinks reception in the Sunken Garden, providing a perfect opportunity for our community to celebrate together and recognise the many achievements of the year.

Commemoration Day is always a fitting end to the academic year, celebrating not only individual successes but also the character, dedication and spirit that define life at Wellington, qualities that all of our speakers reflected on throughout the day.

Congratulations to all of our prize winners, and thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a memorable occasion. We are incredibly proud of all that we achieve together at Wellington School.
