Taunton Festival Of The Arts Sees Stunning Performances

Three of our violinists from the Prep School, Amaya, Georgina and Eliza, had a great day performing in solo, recital, duet and ensemble classes, winning five out of their six classes, and coming 2nd in the remaining class.

The adjudicator praised their poise, stagecraft and musicality, whilst the children thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to perform and support each other.

Milly in Year 6 played the guitar beautifully the following day and Aston, Year 9, came 2nd with honours in both his guitar classes winning a trophy for "Most Promising Student across all Classes".

Annabelle, Year 9, took home a medal for 3rd place in the contemporary/pop vocal solos. Amaya received honours in the under 10s piano solo while Christine in Year 8 took a gold medal for hers. In the under 11s music composition class Zac won 1st place and Sophie, with her lovely composition about friendship, placed 2nd.

In the second week of the festival, our singers and Bea, Year 12 and Thea, Year 11 swept up four 1st places and three 2nd places between them with Bea also taking home the Kingston St Mary Singing Trophy.

Robert, Year 7 came 1st in both of his classes also winning the Rougier Cup, whilst Amaya and Olivia from Prep School sang beautifully in their classes.
