Former Wellington Cricket Captain Selected to Bowl at the England Men

Over this half term Will - 2024 leaver and 1st XI cricket captain - was selected to bowl at the England Men as part of their preparation for the test matches starting on 4th June against New Zealand: an absolutely amazing opportunity and honour for any cricketer and testament to how much Will has continued to grow in the sport.

Will spoke about his experience,

“It was an honour to bowl at England on Monday 25th June, I was given the opportunity to bowl at Ben Stokes, England Test Captain as well as Joe Root, the world's number one ranked Test batsman, which was a new and very challenging experience.

I was bowling in tandem with Sonny Baker who is one of the fastest bowlers in the UK. It was great to share ideas and plans with Sonny to try and get two of the best players in world cricket out. To top the day off I received a “Well bowled lad,” from Ben Stokes.

The whole experience was something I won't forget and gained valuable experience from the opportunity.”
