Choral Evensong, Strings Concert And Prep Teatime Concert

It has been a busy and inspiring week of music across the school!

Last Sunday, we began with a beautiful Choral Evensong at St John’s Church, Wellington.

Tuesday’s String Faculty Concert showcased the depth of our string playing, with pupils from Reception through to Year 13 performing and demonstrating the strength of our string programme.

On Wednesday, the Prep Hall was full of music for one of our regular Prep teatime concerts. It is always a pleasure to hear these young musicians perform and we look forward to seeing many of them progress into our senior ensembles in the years ahead.

Also on Wednesday, our three Year 13 A Level musicians gave their formal performance recitals in front of the Eduqas examiner and acquitted themselves brilliantly.

We ended the week on Friday with workshops led by the Happy Garden Band from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. As part of our partnership with Guildhall Young Artists, they worked with our jazz musicians - a fantastic opportunity for Wellington School pupils to learn from top professionals.

If your child would like to learn an instrument and explore the opportunities within the music department at Wellington, do get in touch!
