Spanish Language Comes To Life In Andalucía

There’s no better advert for learning a language than spending time abroad, and this October, 39 Wellington pupils had the chance to do just that during an unforgettable five-day trip to Andalucia. 

The group immersed themselves in Spanish culture while putting into practice everything they have learned in lessons. Their itinerary was packed with opportunities to experience the region’s rich history and vibrant traditions from exploring cultural monuments and museums to enjoying local cuisine, beach time, and even a lively flamenco dancing workshop. 

Bathed in the warmth of the Spanish sun, pupils embraced every moment with enthusiasm, curiosity, and excellent spirit.

Trips like these highlight the importance of language learning as a gateway to understanding culture, connection, and global citizenship. As staff reflected, it was wonderful to see pupils’ confidence grow as they used their Spanish in real-world situations.
