Students Hone Map Reading Skills In Foggy Conditions

Our students have been out on the moors last weekend with practice expeditions for Ten Tors and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Our 35 and 45 mile Ten Tors teams were out on a beautifully misty Dartmoor to hone their map reading skills and gain more crucial experience. With one more practice to go before the event in May, the excitement is building.

Our Silver and Gold DofE teams headed to Exmoor for their practice expeditions in similarly foggy conditions. We are so fortunate to be situated with such glorious landscapes on our doorstep and our vibrant Outdoor Education department make the most of them at every opportunity.

These weekends are about far more than covering miles: they build the qualities that enable our students to be future-ready - resilience when the weather tuns, determination when the legs get tired, teamwork when the route is tough and the discipline and motivation to keep moving forward together.

Well done to all involved.
