Year 8 Wilf Launches His First Business

Over the summer holidays, Year 8 Wilf launched his first business, Rusty’s Pet Pantry, a gift box service for dogs inspired by his much-loved pup, Rusty.

At just 12 years old, Wilf has already shown remarkable initiative and determination. He carried out market research, designed and built his own website, and now manages all aspects of the business, from marketing and sales to accounts. The only part that needed adult support was setting up a bank account!

Rusty’s Pet Pantry has already received orders from across the UK, and with business booming, Wilf is looking ahead and planning to expand his range to include cat gift boxes in the near future.

Wilf’s journey perfectly reflects the Wellington School vision of encouraging innovation, creativity and leadership. His advice to other young entrepreneurs is simple but inspiring:

“Just because you’re a child, it shouldn’t stop you starting your own business and fulfilling your dreams. Don’t wait until you’re older. Do it now. Choose something you care about and then go for it!”

Congratulations Wilf, everyone at Wellington School is incredibly proud of your creativity, determination and entrepreneurial spirit. We can’t wait to see what comes next!
