Our Drama Department Has Been Shortlisted As A Finalist In The 2026 Music And Drama Education Awards.

We are thrilled to announce that Wellington School’s Drama Department has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 2026 Music and Drama Education Awards, int he prestigious category of Outstanding School Drama Department.

This national recognition celebrates both excellence and inclusivity within our Drama provision, highlighting the department’s strong industry and agency links, exceptional success with Drama School and National Youth Theatre entries, and its innovative approach to productions that inspire creativity at every level.

At the heart of Wellington’s performing arts ethos is a firm belief that the arts should be accessible to all. Through our thriving Stage School and Dance School, pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, creativity and collaboration, skills that extend far beyond the stage. The department also continues to strengthen its connections with the local community through a rich programme of performances and outreach.

To be recognised nationally as one of the country’s leading Drama Departments is a testament to the dedication, vision, and passion of our talented staff and pupils.

The winners will be announced at the Music and Drama Education Awards Ceremony in London on 12 February 2026, held at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms.

We are immensely proud of this achievement and extend our congratulations to everyone involved in making the arts at Wellington so vibrant and inspiring.
