Year 10 Common Room Gets A Fabulous Makeover

The Year 10 Common Room has undergone a fantastic transformation, and students are thrilled with the results. 

The redesign was guided by student feedback, with pupils requesting a mix of soft furnishings, low tables and chairs to create a versatile, multipurpose space. Practical touches such as bag racks, a mirror, and a clock were also high on their wish list and have all been included.

In terms of décor, students preferred a calm and neutral look rather than bright and bold colours, and the finished result has certainly achieved that balance. The space feels relaxed, welcoming, and perfectly suited to both study and downtime. Adding to the fun, students also asked for games, and they now have both a football table and a darts board.

The new Year 10 Common Room is a great example of collaboration and student voice in action, and we can’t wait to see how pupils continue to make the space their own in the months ahead.
