Sport And Physical Health

Our Sport and Physical Health programme is unique among schools.

Our approach to competitive sport is inclusive. Every child is encouraged to take part and has opportunities to play. We run as many teams in each year group as we can, playing fixtures against other schools across ability ranges from Under 8s upwards. We provide extensive sporting provision outside of our target sports where pupils have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of different activities. The importance of teamwork and purposeful practice are important to us all.

The Year 6 rugby and netball teams have the opportunity to go on a weekend tour accompanied by school staff. This weekend is seen as the culmination of the season and the touring party play two fixtures and have two nights away with their teammates enjoying a team meal and fun activities such as bowling and lasershoot.

Our bespoke Early Years Sport and Physical Health programme takes our younger pupils through a range of fundamental movement skills, hand-eye coordination activities, gymnastics and swimming lessons that build water confidence. All of our Nursery and Reception pupils enjoy participating in our Balanceability programme – a fun cycling based session that gradually takes our pupils from using balance bikes to independently cycling with pedals.
