Pastoral And Safeguarding

At Wellington School we cherish the principles of kindness, empathy, community, inclusivity, and equality.

By nurturing a culture of kindness, we create a warm and supportive environment for everyone. Empathy allows us to understand and share the feelings of others, ensuring that we are always considerate and compassionate in our actions. Our sense of community binds us together, encouraging collaboration and mutual support. Inclusivity ensures that everyone, regardless of their background, feels welcomed and valued. Finally, equality is the cornerstone of our ethos, guiding us to treat everyone with fairness and respect.

The tutor is central to the pastoral care of every child at Wellington School, fostering a strong and nurturing relationship with both the child and their family. By being a consistent presence in the child's life, the tutor can provide tailored support and guidance, helping and supporting the child to spark connections to achieve their full potential.

Our mentoring programme is a cornerstone of student wellbeing, showcasing the strength of our community spirit. Lower Sixth students receive extensive mentoring training, ensuring peer support is deeply embedded throughout the school. Leading together through Student Voice, Wellington School pupils are able to influence significant change, from shaping mobile phone policies to the launch of an International Culture Week, empowering our students to act today and make a real difference.
