University Destinations

The number of Wellington students who secure places at top universities is always impressive.

In 2025, 100% of students, who applied to university gained direct entry to their first or second choice offer.  One pupil went to Oxford while one student gained entry to Medical School and one pupil to went to study veterinary science. In addition, after leaving Wellington some of our pupils continue their studies at prestigious Art Schools and Music Conservatoires.

For the second year in a row, all Medicine and Veterinary applicants secured their places on these highly competitive courses. Our England U18 Women's Rugby player secured her dream to go to Loughborough University, whilst continuing to play elite rugby and study Sports Technology.

The overall destinations of our students are as wide ranging as their personal interests. Students will be leaving us for such a range of courses as Medicine at Nottingham and East Anglia, Veterinary Medicine at Liverpool, Computing at Exeter, Drama and English at Manchester, Mechanical Engineering at Warwick and Bristol, Law at Cardiff, Biomedical Science at York, Psychology at Southampton and Mathematics at Bath.

Moreover, the wide range of opportunities and support on offer here has enabled students to study Fashion Management at University of the Arts London, Technical Theatre and Stage Management at RADA, Music Production and DJ Performance at Point Blank Music School and Agri-Management at Newcastle.

Students have also applied for the military, apprenticeships and direct employment, reflective of the many different pathways apart from university that we support our students to achieve.
