Community Action Group

Community Action Group offers students the opportunity to broaden their horizons both socially and in co-curricular areas.

This programme runs as an option within the Schools Services programme and is an alternative to CCF for students in Years 10-11.

Each year, staff involved in Citizens run a programme of activities. All students are welcome to contribute their ideas to the programme.  The programme supports the 4 principles of our Education at Wellington School; Embrace Complexity, Spark Connections, Act Today, Lead Together.

A number of students have undertaken a dementia awareness course and now visit one of our local residential homes, to sit, chat, sing and cook with the residents. We have students organizing a number of events supporting school charities. Others have been communicating with a school in Albania, some creating a sensory garden and others beginning to produce a thought-provoking newsletter for the whole school community. We will also be running a junior coaching qualification within this session.
