A Levels & Sixth Form Study Programme

Sixth Form

The carefully designed Sixth Form curriculum at Wellington School allows each student to follow their own interests whilst maximising their chance of gaining entry to their chosen university and ensuring that each student receives a broad and balanced education.

Wellington School offers an exciting and diverse set of subjects in the Sixth Form. Our courses include the full set of so-called 'facilitating' A Level subjects, which are particularly highly regarded by top universities.

Most students choose three subjects to study at A Level and the school will make every effort to accommodate a student’s choices. Where appropriate, it is also possible for our most able students to study 4 A Levels. In addition to our A Level curriculum we offer opportunities to work towards an Extended Project Qualification and the Pre-University Global Perspectives Qualification.

In the Lower Sixth pupils also follow a bespoke set of courses which are designed to help them plan for their future. Topics covered include the university application processes, careers planning, interview skills and writing a job application letter and curriculum vitae.

International students can also take advantage of a course for non-native English speakers, which leads to the IELTS examination required for university entrance.
