The School aims to stimulate pupils’ curiosity and to instil in them a life-long interest in learning. Traditional subjects are taught by experienced and inspiring subject-specialist teachers.
Pupils coming into Year 7 embark upon a rich curriculum with a wide range of subjects. In addition to the traditional subjects of English, Mathematics, Sciences, History, Geography and RS, all pupils study French and Latin at Year 7. At Year 8 pupils take up either Spanish or German and at Year 9, they can pursue Latin, or swap to a more culturally based Classics syllabus. All pupils will also study Music, Art, Drama, Design & Technology and Sport and Wellbeing, as well as PSHEE.
All pupils are taught in a class of around 20 pupils, in which they study all their subjects, with the exception of Mathematics and Languages, for which they are set.
All pupils have examinations in every subject in the summer term.
