Learning Support
Learning Support
Wellington School is committed to meeting the needs of all its pupils, including those with special educational needs, with reasonable adjustments within the school’s resources. The school aims to enable every pupil to thrive in a supportive environment where there is a high expectation of success.
Students are taught in mainstream classes and subject teachers are advised about strategies to support individuals. Additional specialist and individual support is organised for some pupils on a regular basis within the Independent Learning Centre.
Students entering the school are screened for dyslexia. For some, more detailed assessments take place in order to establish strengths, weaknesses and learning styles. Information gained as a result of these assessments is used to provide specific, individual support.
