Here's what some of our families, who joined us recently, say about their experience of relocating to Somerset.

"We chose to live in Somerset as we were drawn to its beautiful spaces and barn conversion homes but it is not isolated or too far away from friends in Hampshire and London.  I went to visit Wellington School in Summer 2017 and after that first visit, I didn't feel I had to look at other schools in the area.  For our family it is important that we get the 'friendly', 'family', feel all around us, most especially in the schools where our children will be spending lots of time.  I instantly felt and knew that Wellington School had that culture, that energy from the welcoming smiles I received then and continue to experience now three years on.  The School values both sport and academic achievements, has strong values and high standards.  We have made so many friends in the School and this has truly enriched our lives in Somerset.

It was one of the best decisions we've made."     Parent

"The children felt at home from day 1 and made friends quickly. They love the stimulating school curriculum and all the sport!  The pupils, staff and other parents have all been so welcoming to both us, as parents, and the children. We are quite amazed at how quickly they have settled into their new school. They absolutely love Wellington School, thank you!" New Parent October 2020

"We relocated to the South west in October 2019 due to a new career opportunity for my husband. Our search area for our new home was Devon and West Somerset.

The foremost factor in our decision on where to live was absolutely the choice of school. We did visit a number of schools in the area, however the choice of Wellington school for us all was a clear favourite.

The things that really stood out and appealed to us about the school was the warm, friendly, family like atmosphere for both parents and pupils alike. All the staff we met gave the impression of a positive, nurturing and inspiring environment for the children and all engaged with us as customers in a friendly manner. It felt very much like we were joining a community and not just a school.

The philosophy of the school really appealed to us too. Whilst there is a clear focus on top class academics, the importance of sport, music, drama and co-curricular opportunities provided an important balance. This balance along with a focus on wellbeing and self development was key for us as we felt it resulted in a well-rounded young adult who would fit into society and the world of work very well.

For us it was not just about the choice of school that brought us to Somerset. It was a whole life move, away from friends and family and out of a routine and an area that we all knew so well. It was a pretty daunting time however the nurturing environment of the school and the friends we have all made through our connection with Wellington School have helped all of us to settle so well."
