Pastoral Care and Tutors

Pastoral Care and Tutors

Our boarders enjoy outstanding care and support in our boarding houses. Each boarding house is run by dedicated and highly experienced Houseparents, responsible for the pastoral and academic welfare of each pupil. They are supported by a team of tutors, some of whom are resident in the boarding house. A strong school – parent partnership is key to the success of boarding.

Day to day life is structured and organised, with supervised prep sessions, student duties, evening activities and free time.  A large number of House staff, around ten in total, form an excellent pastoral team who nurture and care for each and every student, focusing on their individual needs and development. The Pastoral team is enhanced by the excellent team of Matrons, who provide just the right level of nurturing, without stifling independence. They oversee laundry, bedtimes, kitchen activities and room tidying, and are always on hand to offer help and support.
