GCSE

GCSE

Our Year 10 International pupils aged 14-15 join our mainstream two-year GCSE Programme. Our Year 10 students study a focused programme of important and relevant subjects, study skills, and exam technique. Closely monitored and supported in their boarding houses, they work hard to achieve sound GCSE results.

At Wellington, education emphasises the development of the whole person. All international students take part in a wide variety of co-curricular activities, both inside and outside the School, including charity fundraising.

Our pupils live, study and learn alongside British students wherever possible. They always receive support in small, mixed-nationality groups and all our programmes focus on supporting our pupils to improve their English and target exam success.

As an integral part of the Wellington School community, our pupils have full access to all co-curricular options. Participating alongside their British peers, they take an active part in all sporting, musical, artistic and outdoor programmes.

English Language Provision

For students in the Upper School, there are English Language and Study Skills lessons provided as part of the timetable. These lessons address General English skills, as well as the necessary Study Skills to enable students to achieve their best from their GCSE studies.
