Corner Capital Fund

Corner Capital Fund

Much of the Wellington School campus has been built with donations from individuals over the years. Our fifth Headmaster George Corner was especially generous in his love for the school and poured a large amount of his own money into the construction and purchasing of new buildings and without him the School would look very different today.

The Fund is the vehicle to fundraise for improvements to School facilities and our current project is Duke’s Library and Study Space.

Duke’s Library and Study Space

Over 30 years ago the Duke’s building opened in the heart of the School, providing a much-needed Library and Sixth Form Centre. Today the use of Duke’s has evolved, and we believe that it is now time to put it back at the heart of the pupil experience.

Duke’s will be completely refurbished to provide a modern study space and library over two floors which will sustain the core skill of reading, promote independent learning for our Sixth Form and provide a quiet space for our pupils throughout the week.

The entire area around Duke’s will be landscaped and redeveloped to create a fresh, inviting and contemporary social space and entrance, providing a fitting pathway to our magnificent and iconic chapel.
