Enrichment Programme

Sixth Form offers students total immersion in their subjects inside and outside of the classroom through Academic Societies, Trips, Research Projects, Competitions and Alumni Connections.
Students are given the academic fuel which they then use to ignite and drive immediate and incredible journeys themselves, using the connections and opportunities provided in Sixth Form. Examples include students winning prizes in Design Innovation competitions, setting up Gap Year service with our International Charity Edukid, reaching finals in Engineering competitions, gaining incredible work experience opportunities following our Networking Dinner in food and health industries and more. Students leave confident in their ability to drive their future choices and impact having had the opportunity to do so here.
Academic Societies
Sixth Form students attend academic societies that are student led, supported by staff and built into the School day. These include:
MedSoc, Pol Soc, Law Soc, Psych Soc, Engineering Soc, EvoDevo, Debating, Raban, Coleridge, Pride Soc, Enterprise, History....
Academic Enrichment
Sixth Form students follow a transitional course in academic enrichment lessons which take them from securing first the necessary skills and practice of independent study and critical thinking in term one, to research and communication skills in term two, to a personal pathway in term three that supports their intended post 18 steps.
Students build connections, deliver messages and push the boundaries of their subjects in these weekly enrichment opportunities.
Extended Project Qualification
From the start of Sixth Form students have the opportunity to follow a bespoke EPQ course leading to them completing an independent research project worth half an A Level and highly regarded by universities and employers. Students choose from a written project, production or artefact and are assigned a personal mentor to guide and challenge them in the process.
Find out more about the EPQ here.
